One task that fits right now.
Spurt is a to-do list for iPhone and iPad. When there’s a gap in your day, choose how long you’ve got and how much energy is left, and you get one task from your list that fits it.

Three Must-Dos, picked in two minutes
In the morning, Plan lays out what’s due today, what carried over from yesterday and what you’ve marked Important. Star up to three and they become the day’s Must-Dos, at the top of Today with a ring that fills as you finish them.
Finish the last one and the day is cleared. That’s the one big celebration of the day; anything you do after it counts as a bonus.
Three is where it starts. In Settings you can choose any number from one to five, and on a busy day Plan lets you add more for that day only, up to five.
What fits in 15 minutes?
Spurt’s time cards are 5, 15 and 30 minutes and an hour, and each one shows how many of your tasks fit. Easy ones leaves out anything you’ve marked Needs energy, for the end of a long day.
A job too big for the time you have comes up in pieces. A half-day report becomes Do 15 min, and the minutes stay on the task, so next time it reads Half day · 45 min in. Skip a card and that task goes to the back for today. Skip the same one on three different days and the card shows a question instead: Still want this one? Today, Someday or Delete.

Nothing turns red
A task you didn’t get to moves to Carried over, in grey, with how long it has waited: Carried 2 days. There’s no red badge and no number on the app icon. When a few have waited three days or more, Tidy shows them together, each with Today, Someday and Delete.
Miss one day in a week and your streak holds; it counts as a rest day.
Left out on purpose
A few features most to-do apps have, and Spurt doesn’t.
- Points, levels and leaderboardsMilestones mark moments like your first cleared day, with the date you reached them.
- A count of what you didn’t doCarried tasks show how long they’ve waited, in grey, and nothing adds them up.
- PasswordsYou sign in with Apple, and Apple can hide your email address from Spurt.
- Notifications you didn’t ask forThe only ones are reminders you set, the daily reminder if you turn it on, a long timer running out, and tasks someone sends you.
- A chatbotThere’s nothing to talk to. You type a task and it’s on your list.
- Projects inside projectsLists, and items inside a task. That covers a house move, a trip or a week of groceries.
Lists you share with the people at home
Make a shared list for the groceries, a trip or the house, invite up to 50 people with a code, and everyone ticks items off the same list as they go. Each person chooses the name the others see.
You can also send one task to one person. It arrives at the top of their Inbox with your name on it, they add it or pass, and you see when it’s done.

Questions
When is Spurt out?
Spurt is being tested now and is coming soon to the App Store for iPhone and iPad.
Is Spurt free?
Yes. Spurt is free, with a banner ad at the bottom of the main screens and, after your first week, now and then a full-screen ad after you finish a task in Spurt. Spurt Pro is optional: it removes the ads and opens every theme.
How is Spurt different from Todoist or Reminders?
Todoist and Reminders are built to hold and organise everything you need to do. Spurt holds your list too, but it’s built around choosing what to do next: one task that fits the time and energy you have, a few Must-Dos a day (three to start), and nothing turning red when a day slips. You can keep a big list elsewhere and paste the day’s tasks into Spurt, one per line.
Is Spurt made for ADHD?
Spurt isn’t a medical app and doesn’t treat anything. It was designed around starting: you choose by the time and energy you have instead of reading the whole list, you see one task at a time, unfinished tasks wait in grey instead of turning red, and Do it starts a timer for the time you picked. It works the same way for everyone. If you want a visual timetable for your whole day, a planner built for that, such as Tiimo, will suit you better.
Is Spurt on Android or the web?
No. Spurt is for iPhone and iPad.
